Science Intent
As scientists at St. Barnabas, we are curious about the world around us and ask questions to ignite our learning. We develop in confidence in sharing our predictions and findings with high quality oracy, whilst working collaboratively and independently on a range of science experiments.
We develop a range of practical skills through our carefully sequenced, hands-on curriculum by working scientifically – planning, observing, recording and evaluating.
We inspire a love for science in our children and share with them the possibility of becoming a scientist, ready to tackle current and future, local and global issues. Our science curriculum aims to equip our children with the key, essential knowledge whilst developing secure scientific vocabulary. We share our scientific knowledge and findings with our local community in Warmley and build relationships with scientific professionals to deepen our children’s scientific understanding. We explore the relationship between science and spirituality, asking big questions and experiencing those awe and wonder moments.
