House Captains

Our Houses: At St Barnabas Primary we have 4 Houses: Andromeda, Lyra, Orion, Cassiopeia.

The houses are named after star constellations and each house is represented by a colour. When any child joins our school they are put into a house and they represent their house by wearing that coloured T shirt for PE and sports.

Each week the children earn dojo points for keeping to the school values. This points are added up at the end of the week and a winning house is announced in Celebration assembly.

Each House is led by two House Captains. They are democratically voted in as House Captains by their peers after delivering personally written speeches explaining why they would make an excellent House Captain.

As House Captains they have extra responsibilities such as collecting the dojo points, taking a lead in Celebration Assembly, support children in the playground and around school who need help, demonstrate the school values and wear their badges with pride.

This year we will be launching a competition to design logos for each of the houses. These are going to be digitally created so they can be used on the website, around school and at competitions. What out for more details coming soon.
