Computing
Computing at St Barnabas aims to create ‘thinkers of the future’ through the DfE approved scheme ‘Teach Computing’. This scheme is ambitious, written by experts and ensures 100% curriculum coverage.
We understand that children are exposed to technology in their everyday lives and we ensure that children appreciate both the advantages and disadvantages associated with technology. Through our computing and PSHE scheme of work, children develop into confident and responsible users of ICT. It is essential that our learners know what measures to take to keep themselves and others safe online.
At St Barnabas, we are excited by the vast number of careers that children can pursue within the STEM field. Throughout our lessons, children are exposed to innovative activities that will equip them with the knowledge and skills to pursue future study in the field of STEM. We actively seek to engage with external professionals such as engineering companies and the local universities so that our children are provided with hands-on experiences.
